An eclectic singer and songwriter, Trina Aitken is not shy to combine together her influences which include the souldful side of rock, blues, R&B and jazz. Scott Yanow, renowned California based author, and regular contributor to Downbeat Magazine says of Aitken "She has a voice and style of her own, drawing from wide inspirations as Joni Mitchell, Eva Cassidy, & KT Tunstall".
Trina, a Quincy MA native, graduated from Boston's prestigious Berklee College of Music where she had the pleasure of studying with renowned songwriters Livingston Taylor and Pat Pattison, as well as acclaimed vocalists Lisa Thorson and Jeff Ramsey. Combining these experiences into a unique style has helped her establish a loyal following throughout MA and beyond. Performing regularly in both Duo, and full band formats, Trina and her guitarist Bosse always take their audiences by storm, with her thoughtful and soulful rock originals.
The following singles, "Sound of My Heartache" and "Good Enough", written by Trina, include musicians who are all graduates of Berklee. The band includes the versatile guitarist Ron Bosse, who has worked with such jazz greats as Dave Liebman, George Garzone and Jerry Bergonzi; B3 organist John Cooke who performs regulary with the bands of Evan Goodrow and Ilo Ferreira; Argentinean bassist & Berklee College of Music professor Fernando Huergo; and drummer Mike Stavitz from the popular indie group The Alternate Routes.
Both singles were produced and engineered by Ron Bosse at Bosse Studios in Weymouth, MA. The songs were mixed by engineer Ted Paduck, who in 2004 helped engineer and produce the album "True Love" by Toots & The Maytals which won "Best Reggae Album" at the Grammys. Ted has also worked with Aerosmith, John Mayer, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Nine Inch Nails & Ciara. Assistant engineers on the project include Berklee Engineering graduates Tom Barry and AJ Peters.
